H.A. Gaudin, as it was originally known, was jointly founded by Arthur Forster in 1934. On retirement, the business was carried on by Arthur's son Rex and then by John Wright, who acquired it in 1989, combining it with his own very successful estate agency practice and he decided to keep the name, by then - Gaudin and Co.
John retired in 2013, by which time he had funded the sale of shares to certain key members of his team, including Bradley Vowden and Jane Power, to ensure continuity of care through succession.
Fast forward to 2022 and again retirement, this time that of Jane Power, has resulted in another partial change of ownership and leadership. Jane’s shares passed to Nick Jewell, whose experience in the field of property management made him the ideal partner for Bradley and the business.
We are proud of our history and the substance and presence that it gives us in the local market. Many others have come and gone but we have continued to flourish, for almost 90 years. (And bear in mind we were here during the Occupation of WWll.)
We have taken the recent change as an opportunity to review our business, work out what drives us and define what we need to do to ensure we remain at the forefront of today’s market. We will continue to strive to raise the bar in every aspect of our service delivery, to partner with our clients to ensure we really understand their needs, and with local authorities to support moves to better regulate our industry.
Today we are bigger in number and possibly more diverse in our proposition than ever. We offer comprehensive professional services to both residential and commercial clients in sales, management and lettings.
We value people, those who come in every day and bring their best as part of our team and those who entrust their personal and commercial interests to us. We’d like to see what the next 90 years might bring!
